Hot Ticket—Mill City Summer Opera to do ‘Tosca’

For its third season of outdoor, summertime opera, Mill City Summer Opera has chosen to stage “TOSCA,” the Puccini tearjerker, with Jill Gardner in the title role. Artistic director David Lefkowichwill direct a staging set in the 1940s, and Brian DeMaris will be the show’s music director. Other cast members include Jake Gardner (Scarpia) and Dinyar Vania (Cavaradossi). As usual, Mill City will stage the opera outdoors in the Mill City Museum’s Ruin Courtyard. ‘Wine, Women and Song’ Greensboro Opera’s 2013 Gala Concert

September 28, 2013, 8pm—A special night of operatic favorites, accompanied by a full orchestra conducted by Maestro Joel Revzen, Artistic Director of Arizona Opera and the Lake Tahoe SummerFest, in historic Aycock Auditorium. Patrons will be treated to an evening featuring Jill Bowen Gardner, other alumni and the finest singers from the UNCG School of Music, Theatre and Dance.
